At China Auto Tours, we believe the best way to experience China is from behind the wheel—whether on a winding mountain pass, a quiet back road through hidden villages, or a legendary highway that stretches across the plateau. With our experience in self-drive and cross-border travel, our team is here to make your journey not only possible but unforgettable.
Our Story
Before founding China Auto Tours, our team had already spent more than 15 years in overland and self-drive travel. During this time, we were directly responsible for organizing and leading some of the most meaningful and groundbreaking events and journeys – such as the Trans Himalayan Adventure and the first Nissan R35 GT-R reaching Everest Base Camp in Tibet, and more.
Bringing this experience together, we founded China Auto Tours with a simple goal: to make self-drive travel in China more accessible, transparent, and enjoyable. Instead of travellers struggling with complex paperwork or unclear rules, we wanted to provide a smoother path – so that every journey could focus on the adventure itself.
